About

I spend most of my time imagining... imagining the "what ifs" and "why nots." The excruciatingly delightful tension between what is imagined and what is real is where I live. I choose to live in the tension. Not ignore it. Not hide from it. Not dismiss it. I choose to embrace it fully, with all of its glorious mystery and pain. Because the alternative is not a life worth living.

If there is a God... What an incredibly mind-blowing thought - a thought that every human being should wrestle with at least once every few hours. If a person would seriously take a moment's pause and really grapple with this idea, I imagine life will look and feel [and actually be] quite different. What if?

Life is a journey. Often, quite often, we walk along the same path where most people tread. Mindlessly, aimlessly, we live simply to survive, to endure, to get by. But for those who dare to walk along a different path, a narrower path, where the blind see by faith, where the hungry are satisfied by love, there is a hope that awaits. What if there is a narrow path that leads to life, to God. What if?

So I wake up every morning trying to bridge the gap between these two worlds - the world of what is imagined and the world of what is real. Most of the time I fail miserably. But once in a while, not very often, these two worlds collide in the most beautiful way, beyond my wildest dreams. And it makes me imagine again, and ask that most difficult and hope-filled of all questions, "Why not?"
